The protection of your personal data and your feeling of security when visiting our website is an important concern for us. We process the personal data collected when you visit our website in accordance with the statutory provisions, in particular the EU Data Protection General Regulation (EU-GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act ­(FDPA/BDSG).

Our websites may contain links to websites of other providers to which this data protection notice does not extend. Despite the greatest care in selecting links to other providers, we cannot assume any responsibility or liability for the content and data security of these providers' websites.

I. Security

We use technical and organisational security measures to protect the data you provide to Aareon against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures ­are continuously improved in line with technological developments. Confidential personal data transmitted via the internet is also protected by encryption.

All our employees are obliged to maintain data secrecy.

II. Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer by the operator of a website. Cookies are primarily used to make your visit to the website more convenient, safer and faster.

We use cookies to offer additional functions that improve the comfort of using our websites, to ensure a flawless registration process or to obtain information about the use of our websites and thus to better tailor the design of our websites to our customers: technically necessary cookies (e.g. customer login) are set without being asked according to applicable law, other cookies (e.g. for tracking ) are only set with your consent. In doing so, information about your use of our website is stored in files on your computer for a limited period of time. When you visit our website again, the stored information is read out again, which for example saves you from having to enter data again.

You have the option of deleting cookies in your browser and ­changing your browser settings ­so that cookies are blocked if necessary or are ­only permitted ­after individual approval. If you block the storage of cookies, you may not be able to use this or another website to its full extent.

III. Processing of data when visiting our websites

(1) When you visit our web pages, our web servers store the following so-called server log files by default: the IP address of your PC and the date and time of your request, the type of your Internet browser and the operating system of your PC as well as the page from which you visit us. This is necessary in order to guarantee you a technically reliable operation. Any further personal reference based on this data is not established and is not intended. In the event of illegal use, we reserve the right to check the data for legal prosecution.

(2) On our websites we use Matomo without cookies (cookieless). An evaluation of user behavior (Tracking) does not take place. This is open source analysis software for the purpose of statistical evaluation of visitor access. The transmitted IP address is anonymised immediately after statistical collection of city and country and before it is saved. The information generated on the use of this website is stored exclusively on Aareon's own servers.

(3) On our websites we use Vimeo to display videos, which you ­can switch on or off for yourself at the top of this page by clicking on the button "­Edit privacy settings for cookies and tracking ". For the hosting of the videos we use the service of Vimeo, a third-party provider (Vimeo Inc., USA). For technical reasons, the integration of Vimeo videos results in the Vimeo servers being called up. For the retrieval and transmission of the video, your IP address, data of your browser or your end device are transmitted to the Vimeo server (USA) and information about which of our Internet pages you have visited.

For the use of data from your browser or end device in connection with the playback of a video, we refer to the provider's data protection information. Further information on data processing and notes on data protection by Vimeo can be found at https://vimeo.com/privacy.

(4) On our websites we use the embedding of videos from youtube.com (USA), which you ­can switch on or off for yourself at the top of this page by clicking on the button "­Edit privacy settings for cookies and tracking ". These videos are ­embedded ­using the YouTube mode with enhanced ­privacy mode.­ According to YouTube, in this mode, no cookies are set on your computer and no personally identifiable information is stored to play embedded videos. To retrieve and transmit the video, your IP address is transmitted to YouTube as a service of Google (USA).

YouTube sets cookies when you click on the YouTube video player and navigate directly to the YouTube website. Because these cookies are set by YouTube, we have no direct control over their use. (5) On our websites, we use LinkedIn Insight tags from LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company for our advertising campaigns on LinkedIn, which you can turn on or off for yourself by clicking the "Edit Privacy Settings for cookies and tracking" button at the top of this page. Our goal is to measure the quantitative success of our LinkedIn ads (clicks), i.e. how many users click our ads to get to our site and how many people actually end up there.

The following information is sent to LinkedIn: URL, referrer URL, IP address, device and browser properties (user agent) and timestamp. This data is encrypted, the IP addresses are shortened or hashed within 7 days and the data is deleted within 180 days. LinkedIn does not share any ­personally identifiable information with us, but only provides reports about the website's target audience and ad performance.

(6) Other personal data is not collected when you visit our websites, unless you voluntarily provide information, e.g. your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address, as part of registration, application for certain services, for a survey or receipt of company and product-related information, participation in a competition or to implement a contract. The personal data that you voluntarily provide will be stored and used for the purposes stated in each case.

Upon request, we will inform you in writing in accordance with the applicable law, whether and which personal data concerning your person are stored by us. You also have a right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, revocation or objection for the future and data transferability. There is a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
